New Red Character Poster Online

As Rodgers and Hammerstein once pointed out, there ain't nothing like a Dame - especially one bearing some seriously heavy weaponry. They'd have loved the new character poster for Red then, which comes courtesy of Collider and offers the enticing prospect of Dame Helen Mirren as cinema's newest action star.

Based on Warren Ellis and Cully Hamner’s graphic novel and directed by Robert Schwentke (Flight Plan), the tongue-in-cheek actioner sees Mirren play ex-CIA spook Victoria. She's roped back into active service when her old colleague Frank Moses (Bruce Willis) finds himself targeted by rogue elements in the Agency.

Morgan Freeman and John Malkovich complete the reunited line-up of greying black-ops talent, while Brian Cox, Karl Urban and Richard Dreyfuss provide varying degrees of villainy.

With Willis' character getting the banner treatment yesterday, the movie is gearing up for some serious Comic-Con attention prior to a worldwide release later this year.
