The dystopian teen adventure dominates the field for novel adaptations right now, squaring off against Nicholas Sparks's romances for viewers' attention. But The Fault In Our Stars, adapted from John Green’s bestseller, promises a little of both: romance against tough odds and a struggle that doesn’t feature a weird caste system or kids battling to the death – just people fighting serious illness. A new trailer has arrived and can be seen below.

Divergent’s Shailene Woodley stars as Hazel Grace Lancaster, a teenager who has been dealing with cancer for years, who copes thanks to a regimen of reality shows, support groups and generous helpings of snark. At one of her meetings, she chances upon Augustus Waters (Ansel Elgort), and the pair makes a near-instant connection.

Soon Gus is using a Make-A-Wish-style arrangement to fly Hazel and himself to Amsterdam in the hope of finding alcoholic, scornful author Peter Van Houton, who wrote the book with which Hazel is obsessed. Along the way, Gus and Hazel grow closer than ever, even as their disease continues to impact their lives.

The cast also includes Laura Dern, Sam Trammell, Nat Wolff, Mike Birbiglia and David Whalen. With Josh Boone directing and a script by (500) Days Of Summer duo Michael H. Weber and Scott Neustadter, the film is set for release in the US on June 6 and then over here on June 20.
