New Prince Of Persia Featurettes

Jerry Bruckheimer, the movie producer once described as "the man with the golden gut", has the alchemist's touch. First he turned Pirates Of The Caribbean from a Disneyworld ride into a multi-gajillion dollar franchise. Now he's looking to repeat the trick, this time throwing a much-loved computer game, a seriously pumped Jake Gyllenhaal and some demented ostriches into the mix with Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Tim****e.

Thanks, then, to the good folk at Disney for brightening a dank afternoon with these two cliffhanging clips and a making-of featurette. They showcase the parkour-powered Dastan (Gyllenhaal) as he evades capture and, more specifically, death, after being framed for the king's murder. All while simultaneously trying to prevent the planet's destruction and wearing outlandish trousers.

It's a lot for anyone to cope with. Luckily, Dastan has some assistance from the ever-fabulous Gemma Arterton's princess Tamina, with whom he forms a feisty bond. Unluckily, he has a nemesis in the dastardedly form of...

Well, that'd be telling. What we can say is that, as these clips show, Dastan is cut from the same intrepid cloth as Indy and the heroes of the silver screen. Think Douglas Fairbanks Jr. after several months at the bench press. He'll be gallivanting across a rooftop near you when Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time is released on May 21.
