New Poster For Ryan Reynolds' The Voices

Not so much the Merc With A Mouth as the schlup with a pup, Ryan Reynolds next film turn sees him play a psychologically fragile man in thrall to his pets. The Voices, Marjane ‘Persepolis’ Satrapi’s latest, is that film and it has a suitably off-beam new UK poster to show off its wares which you can revel in below. Reynolds is Jerry Hickfang, a warehouse worker whose surname would pretty much condemn him to a life of twisted deeds if his pets hadn’t already taken on that responsibility for themselves. One minute it’s pole-scratching, some light stick fetching and the occasional trip to the vet; the next, wholesale slaughter and Gemma Arterton’s head in the fridge as Mr. Whiskers goads him into an array of foul deeds.

When Hickfang plucks up the courage to ask out the pretty girl in accounting (Anna Kendrick), he must escape the feline’s strange command over his actions or she’ll go the way of his previous victim. Luckily, he has his trusty bull mastiff Bosco to offer a voice of reason. Check out the trailer for a closer look at this deliriously barking-looking yarn.

**The Voices **saw Satrapi working from a script by Paranormal Activity 2’s Michael R. Perry, with Reynolds himself providing all the animal voices. It played to appreciative crowds at Sundance last year and we’ll see it on UK screens on March 20.
