New Pan Teaser Poster Flies In

Given that we’ve already had a teaser trailer (at the bottom of the page), a batch of images and a mess of character posters (both here) appear for Pan, it’s surprising that Warners has taken so long to release a teaser one-sheet for Joe Wright’s film. Still, the studio has put the image online.

This image highlights one of the more iconic images of the Peter Pan story, the Jolly Rodger, here in the hands of Blackbeard (Hugh Jackman) and taking flight in the skies above London. That big neon sign on the back rather makes it look like it was production designed by Baz Lurhmann and his team, but this is Wright’s vision.

The new film takes J.M. Barrie’s Pan yarn and gives it a few subtle tweaks, including imagining Peter’s (Levi Miller) origin as a wartime orphan transported with others to Neverland by the nefarious Blackbeard. There our hero meets a young man named Hook (Garrett Hedlund) who is destined to become Peter’s nemesis but is a friend here, more of an adventurer and with both hands still intact.

With the likes of Amanda Seyfried, Cara Delevingne, Rooney Mara, Paul Kaye, Nonso Anozie and Adeel Akhtar aboard, Pan is set to swoop in to our cinemas on July 17.
