How do you deal when someone you love – particularly your child – does something so appalling that it threatens to tear your family and your life apart? That’s the tough question posed by We Need to Talk About Kevin. You can see two new UK posters for the film exclusively below, as well as the freshly printed trailer.
Kevin, which co-writer/director Lynne Ramsay adapted from Lionel Shriver’s novel alongside Rory Stewart Kinnear, stars Tilda Swinton, John C. Reilly and Ezra Miller as the mother, father and titular son in the story.
Swinton’s Eva shoves her ambitions aside to give birth to her son, but the relationship between them is never very easy. Then, when he’s 15, Kevin goes on a shooting spree and Eva’s world is rocked yet further. Take a look at the posters below.
Besieged by guilt and grief, Eva tries to figure out whether she ever actually loved him or, more tellingly, whether his upbringing was to blame. This film gets more pertinent by the day.
We Need to Talk About Kevin is out on October 21.
