Preposterous hamminess, ahoy! Yes, it’s Mortdecai, the decade’s cult classic to-be, landing with four new, moustachioed character posters. If you ever wondered what Gwyneth Paltrow looks like with a moustache – and, frankly, who hasn’t? – just hover your cursor over the strange-looking man with the blond hair below and click. With Johnny Depp in the title role and adapted from Kyril Bonfiglioli’s The Mortdecai Trilogy, the comedy-thriller looks like a goofy but goodhearted caper that shares some DNA with Charade, The Thin Man and Harry Enfield’s Playboys{ =nofollow}. Depp’s titular art dealer is thrown into a deadly world of raging Russians, lethal terrorists and MI5 agents, with only his wife (Paltrow) and a vast reserve of bonhomie to fall back on. Oh, and his manservant (Paul Bettany).

**Mortdecai **is directed by Jurassic Park screenwriter director David Koepp, who most recently oversaw bike courier actioner Premium Rush. He’ll need Mozart’s command of tone to steer this one off the rocks on which the likes of **The Tourist **and **Gambit **have recently floundered, but even if he fails, we’re in. It looks remarkable.
