While all the previous Mission: Impossible films have featured feats of derring-do, they’ve only occasionally been accompanied by scenes of the characters wondering if they can be pulled off. But Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol appears to embrace the planning aspect of the jobs at hand full on for comic effect, as the clip below shows.
The little taste of things to come finds Jeremy Renner’s Brandt conferring with Simon Pegg’s Benji Dunn about the mission they’re about to attempt. Brandt is understandably concerned that he’s being thrust into the most dangerous aspect – namely the lethally hot core of a computer that happens to feature a hefty jump and only the promise of Benji to catch him.
It’s an enjoyable little chunk and it’s nice to see that Brad Bird, Tom Cruise and the M team aren’t looking to give away every set piece just yet (at least not outside of the trailers).
Does Brandt go for it? What do you think? Also, this clip, which was posted last week, might provide an answer...
Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol will be out on December 26.
