Rowan Atkinson has, over the past few decades, produced some of this country's finest comedy, so we're intrigued to see what he's got coming up with Johnny English Reborn, the spy-spoof sequel where he returns as the hapless MI7 agent who only wishes he were James Bond.
This time, the story rejoins English as he trains with monks in a remote Asian location (as is traditional for returning action heroes: see also Rambo 3), only to be interrupted by his old employers, who need him back to unravel a plot against the life of the Chinese premier. Cue, we're guessing, ineptitude.
The film has an all-star cast that also includes Dominic West, Rosamund Pike, Gillian Anderson, Richard Schiff and Stephen Campbell Moore, and is directed by Oliver Parker. It hits UK cinemas on October 7, which should - sort of - help to tide Bond fans over until next November.{Johnny English Reborn Poster}
