Jesse Eisenberg will be headed to the BAFTAs this weekend following his nomination for The Social Network, but it's time to prepare yourself for his next effort. Namely, that's Holy Rollers, headed our way on May 20 this year, and here's an exclusive look at the poster.
Shot in 2008 but only premiered at Sundance last year, the film casts Eisenberg as Sam Gold, a young Orthodox Jewish man from Brooklyn who is on track for an arranged marriage and training as a rabbi until he swerves waaaay off course. As in, he is recruited as a drug mule by an unscrupulous dealer (The Hangover's Justin Bartha). It's all based on a true story from the late 1990s, but looks at the personal ramifications as Gold's life spins out of control.
This poster seems to take its inspiration, at least a little, from that iconic Social Network effort, with Eisenberg looking straight to camera, but that's no bad thing. Holy Rollers is out May 20, so you can see for yourself if Eisenberg's performance is up to his usual standard.
