A new Gangster Squad poster has hit the web, serving as definitive proof that the Untouchables-like tale of off-the-books law enforcers in in 1940s and 1950s L.A. will be arriving in cinemas on January 11, 2013.

For those not in the know, Gangster Squad was originally set for a September 7 release date this year, but in the wake of the 2012 Aurora shooting at the midnight screening of The Dark Knight Rises, Warner Bros. and the Gangster Squad team decided to reshoot certain cinema-set scenes.

Directed by Zombieland's Reben Fleischer and starring the likes of Josh Brolin, Ryan Gosling, Sean Penn, Nick Nolte, Emma Stone, Anthony Mackie, Giovanni Ribisi and Michael Peña, it's a movie that's easy to get excited about, so January 11 really can't come soon enough.

Interestingly, off the back of writing the script for Gangster Squad, screenwriter Will Beall has now been booked in for the Justice League film and has been mooted for a potential** Leathal Weapon 5 **gig (should that ever come to pass), so he's definitely someone to keep an eye on.

Gangster Squad is set to arrive on January 11.
