Teasers. Trailers. Sort-of-trailers focused on Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) and her sister. All of these have been deployed in the battle for eyes now that The Hunger Games is coming to a close – at least for the moment – with Mockingjay: Part 2. With the release date approaching rapidly, here’s a war cry of a trailer, with Katniss trying to rally the districts behind her struggle.
It’s in this second film adapted from Suzanne Collins’ third tome that we find Katniss and the rebels making their real final push against Donald Sutherland’s scheming, rose-loving Snow and those who are still loyal to him in the Capitol. It won’t be an easy fight, as the status quo has been in place for a very long time now, but Katniss is finally ready to assume the mantle of rebel leader, talking up exactly what her beef with Snow is and demanding that everyone stop killing for him.
We’re promised a big clash for this last entry, lots of terror with the sneaky traps that Snow has in place for just such an occasion, and, of course, some sacrifice. With Francis Lawrence again directing and J. Law joined on screen by Willow Shields, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Julianne Moore, Sam Claflin, Elizabeth Banks, Stanley Tucci, Woody Harrelson, Jena Malone and more, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 flits into our cinemas on November 19. Tickets are on sale now.
