You’ll already have seen the first trailer that arrived for **Fantastic Four **in January, with Josh Trank and Simon Kinberg’s new take on the Marvel stalwarts given its first real public bow. We brought you some exclusive images from the movie (lurking lower down the page) and a new poster has just arrived online.
Admittedly, this “new” image is really just the final shot of that initial trailer with some writing over it. But it’s intriguing to see the Four – Miles Teller’s Reed Richards, Kate Mara’s Sue Storm, Michael B. Jordan’s Johnny Storm and Jamie Bell’s Ben Grimm – in a close approximation of the comic-book costumes, especially as Trank and co. have been clear that this is a more grounded, gritty and realistic (at least as far as you can go with the super science involved) portrayal. The clothing aspect is somewhat confirmed by Miles Teller's recent comments on the subject.
This time around, drawing more from the Ultimate Fantastic Four run of the comics, the plot sees Richards and go travelling to another dimension, where strange forces change them in myriad, and often uncomfortable ways. We’ll also get to meet an antagonist, in the shape of programmer Victor Domashev/Doom, played by Toby Kebbell. {FantastIc Four Spectre Issue Stills}
If you ask us, the new poster feels like a herald for another trailer, but we’ll find out later in the week. Fantastic Four is released in the UK on August 6.
