It's all been quiet on the Elysium front since April's flurry of activity, but should Neill Blomkamp's ambitious sci-fi have temporarily slipped your mind, here's a new Road Warrior-esque shot to re-pique your interest. Matt Damon appears not only to have wrecked his car, but like he's about to have to deal with a tooled-up Sharlto Copley. That's a bad day in anyone's dystopia.
Elysium is, of course, Blomkamp's long-awaited follow-up to District 9. Set in the year 2159, it pits the oppressed people of the ruined planet Earth against the privileged elite staving off dodecahedron fever inside the biosphere of the Elysium space station. Matt Damon is ex-convict man-on-a-mission Max, fighting with the Terrans for equality, and Jodie Foster is the dastardly government official intent on enforcing anti-immigration laws and keeping Elysium for the Elysians. Copley is Kruger, her relentlessly bearded attack dog.
William Fichtner also features in the film, which we're promised will repeat District 9's trick of juggling sci-fi thrills with a sharp political agenda. **Elysium **is finally out in the UK on September 20.
