Beaming the People's Princess directly to the people's peepers, the new trailer for **Diana **has arrived and shows Naomi Watts doing her thing as the Princess of Wales in Oliver Hirschbiegel mini-biopic. Click below to take a look.
We say 'semi' biopic because the film concentrates on a relatively short period after Diana's divorce and towards the end of her life. Her affair with Pakistani heart surgeon Hasnat Khan (Naveen Andrews) was overshadowed, publically at least, by more widely publicised dalliances with James Hewitt and Dodi Fayed but, posits the new film, it was Khan she actually fell hardest for.
Perhaps sensibly, the film leaves the final chapter of her life well alone, focusing instead on the few halycon months she spent with Khan. The trailer showcases the happier side of their relationship (sneaky suppers round the corner from his hospital, covert hours spent together at Kensington Palace), as well as the trickier aspects of the affair. Sadly for Di, the paparazzi here seem to be the fast-moving variety.
**Diana **is out on September 20 in the UK. There's no US release date as yet, but it surely won't be far behind.
