We’ve had the teaser, but now The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader is ready to roll out its full trailer for us to enjoy, and you can watch it below.
For this promo, director Michael Apted has decided to eschew the wartime London opening to chuck us straight into the adventure with Aslan (voiced as usual by Liam Neeson) going for the Biblical once again, doing a Moses on the sea to allow Lucy (Georgie Henley), Edmund (Skander Keynes), Eustace (Will Porter), King Caspian (Ben Barnes) and Reepicheep (voiced this time by Simon Pegg) to kick off their journey.
Naturally, there’s a quest to be completed, with the forces of darkness allied against them and the usual amount of help required by Aslan. Oh, and because Lucy and Edmund are long since experienced with all the Narnian stuff, Eustace is a handy audience figure and source for comedy, fainting at the first sight of a talking animal.
It remains to be seen if the spectacle has suffered at the hands of budget cuts since the series was sent packing by Disney, but there certainly seems to be a healthy amount of fantastical eye-candy on display. Check out the footage below and let us know your thoughts.
The Voyage of the Dawn Treader will arrive on December 9, so if you’ve been anticipating this one, there’s only a month to wait now.
