As we all gear up for the release of The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug on December 13, we shouldn't forget about last year's An Unexpected Journey, and as a little reminder here's a behind-the-scenes glimpse of that film's Battle Of Moria, with second-unit director Andy Serkis explaining a little about what went into the sequence.
This was, of course, the flashback that explains why dwarves and goblins don't get along, and why Richard Armitage's Thorin, in particular, holds a bit of a grudge against the Moria natives. Hint: it involves the death of a family member. Of course, given that Thorin kills the orc responsible there's a grudge on the other side too.
