We’ve already had one trailer for Bridesmaids, the comedy that director Paul Feig likes to describe as a “sismance” (yes, he knows it’s not that elegant, and prefers “galmance”) but now there’s a new promo out and you can scan it with your peepers below.
Kristin Wiig co-wrote and takes the starring role in this one, playing Annie, who finds her life unravelling when she’s asked by her best pal Lillian (Maya Rudolph) to be her maid of honour.
See, Annie’s life is already chaotic enough without having to compete with a pack of colourful bridesmaids to see who gets to sort out the various wedding items. She’s sleeping with a jerk (Jon Hamm, so you can sort of see why she might tough it out despite him coming across as a mix of Don Draper’s cruel side and a smooth hustler) and has no direction.
But as she fakes her way through the bizarre and OTT wedding rituals, she not only starts to bond with some of the other women, but also starts to figure out where she’s been going wrong.
This new trailer puts the focus on Wiig’s Annie a little more – and offers up more from Hamm and Chris O’Dowd (though not much in the latter’s case).
The cast also includes Rose Byrne, Melissa McCarthy, Wendi McLendon-Covey and Ellie Kemper. Check out the trailer and let us know whether you want it with chocolate filling or the more traditional fruitcake.
Bridesmaids is out on June 24.
