Here's a perfect storm of awesome things: Aardman Animation, Christmassy goodness and humourous puns. It can only be the character banners for Arthur Christmas, the new CG effort from the studio and the most Yuletidey thing since someone first thought of putting cinnamon and oranges in red wine and heating it all up.
**Arthur **Christmas, seen here in typically lanky form and voiced by James McAvoy, is the well-meaning but slightly inept son of Santa Claus (Jim Broadbent), overshadowed by his technologically expert and much showier brother Steve (Hugh Laurie, with the Christmas tree-shaped goatee). Also along for the ride are Grand-Santa (Bill Nighy) and wrapping elf Bryony (Ashley Jensen) as Arthur tries to deliver one overlooked Christmas present before Christmas morning dawns.
Arthur Christmas is out on November 11, which will therefore mark the official start of Christmas. Hooray! A month and two weeks off work, watching movies and eating too much! That's how it works, right?
