Those planning to buy the Iron Man 3 Blu-ray or HD digital releases know that it comes packing a new Marvel One Shot, focused on Hayley Atwell’s Peggy Carter, the take-no-prisoners British agent from Captain America: The First Avenger. One clip from the short has already arrived online and Marvel is keeping our anticipation alight with another.
Agent Carter is set one year after the events of The First Avenger, Peggy – still raw after the loss of Steve Rogers – has been transferred to a new government agency, where her boss (Bradley Whitford) seeks to oppress and undermine her at every turn, keeping her glued firmly to her desk while sending less competent male agents out into action. But when a tip-off comes in after hours, Peggy sees a chance to take on a dangerous mission.
In this latest snippet, Peggy has headed off to dig up a newly discovered McGuffin, one that appears to bring no small amount of trouble with it. Still, this is Carter we’re talking about: she can handle things.
We got a look at the whole short at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con and liked what we saw. We also managed to grab some time to talk to Atwell about making it, and you can listen to that interview in the Comic-Con podcast below. Marvel’s** Iron Man 3** is available on 3D Blu-ray, Blu-ray and DVD on 9 September.
