He arguably lead a more interesting life than his most famous creation, so it shouldn't come as a shock to learn that there's a biopic of Ian Fleming in the works titled, imaginatively, Fleming, with John Orloff set to write it.
Fleming was born into wealth, the son of an MP, and attended Eton and Sandhurst before heading off to study languages around continental Europe. Come 1939, he was recruited to work as the personal assistant to the head of Naval Intelligence, and served throughout World War II in various intelligence posts - giving him the grounding to create James Bond afterwards, which he did in 1953 with the publication of Casino Royale, spawning 13 sequels and of course the film franchise.
The film's being produced by Leonardo DiCaprio's Appian Way productions, so there's at least a chance that he'll want to star in the film. In any case, Orloff previously wrote 2007's underrated A Mighty Heart, as well as two episodes of Band of Brothers (so the WWII stuff should be a doddle) and the currently in production Guardians of Ga'Hoole (so if there are any bits with owls, he's got it covered). He's also attached to write How Starbucks Saved My Life about a laid-off businessman.
