The trailer for financial drama Margin Call starring the likes of Kevin Spacey, Jeremy Irons Demi Moore, Zachary Quinto and Paul Bettany has arrived online, and you can watch it below.
Set at a fictionalised investment bank across a 24-hour-period just as the world’s financial markets are starting to take their truly huge tumble in 2008, it sees Stanley Tucci’s financial whizz discover something seriously amiss with the company’s finances. But he’s removed before he can act, passing the info on to junior trader Quinto.
And that’s when the brown stuff really hits the wall – turns out that, if current figures are correct, the company will be underwater in a matter of hours. Which leads to an awful lot of handwringing, and, because this is a film about big business in the current climate, lots of high level discussions about what can be done.
Sadly, the movie also appears to come loaded with a decidedly large serving of ham and an awful lot of the typical moments you might expect to see in this sort of drama – big arguments, people reflecting on what’s about to happen and things being dropped/smashed.
There’s no word on a UK release date yet, but the film will be out Stateside on October 21.
