Moving at a sedate, autograph-friendly pace rather than the usual speeding-bullet velocity, Superman was in London last night for Man Of Steel's UK premiere. Henry Cavill joined cast mates Amy Adams, Russell Crowe, Michael Shannon and Antje Traue, as well as director Zack Snyder and screenwriter David S. Goyer, to greet his public and talk about the new take on the classic Siegel and Shuster superhero.
Described by Empire** **as a "operatic, melodramatic and impressive" and by Snyder as "ridiculous and huge", Man Of Steel is a vast and crunchingly action-packed superhero tableau that also has Christopher Nolan's stamp on it. Fittingly, Nolan, a producer on the movie, was on the Leicester Square carpet to share the early touchstones he and Goyer looked to. "We took a similar approach that we did on the Dark Knight movies", Nolan explained, "and put together a terrific ensemble".
