Negotiating to direct a Vegas drama

Robert Luketic is looking to shift his directorial focus. The man who has brought us the likes of Legally Blonde, Monster-In-Law and Win A Date With Tad Hamilton! was preparing to direct Dallas but that might have changed.

Now he’s also negotiating to helm 21 for Columbia. The Vegas-set drama is based on the book Bringing Down The House: The Inside Story Of Six MIT Students Who Took Vegas For Millions. Can’t see why they changed that catchy title, though. Predictably, the story will chart a group of young men who become expert gamblers.

The project, which has become a revolving door for high-profile directors (Brett Ratner and Shawn Levy have both been attached in the past), might throw a spanner into Luketic’s Dallas plans – unless the schedule can be worked out.
