Love Gets In Gear

Taxi driver romantic comedy

A taxi driver who falls in love with one of his passengers? Usually this sort of story ends in brutal, bloody violence thanks to a skin-headed vigilante with a line in talking to mirrors. But thanks to screenwriter Nina Coleman and All’s Fare In Love, it has a chance to become a light romantic comedy with no sign of Travis Bickle.

Apparently inspired by the true story of a New York cabbie who acts as a matchmaker (what, in between driving ludicrously fast and swearing at cyclists?), All’s Fare follows the story of a driver who falls for one of his passengers and realises that he’s a much better match for her than her current boyfriend. Romantic hi-jinks just around the bend, then.

Colman last wrote the script for Dr Dolittle 3. Not that that should give you any reason to worry.
