Want to show off your filmmaking skills to Peter Jackson? Well, that pipedream could become a Kiwi-flavoured reality if you win Your Big Break, a competition that will give aspiring filmmakers access to the LOTR team, filming in New Zealand and top-notch post production.
Five filmmakers will win the chance to make their own short film on location in New Zealand with advice from Lord of the Rings executive producer Barrie Osborne, and you’ll be able to hone your film at post production facility Park Road Post in Wellington afterwards.
It’ll help if you’re nuts about New Zealand, as the topic is…well, three guesses for the really slow. To enter, submit a screenplay for a three-minute short film that captures the spirit of New Zealand (got there in the end!) to www.your-big-break.com before 15 January. Four winners will be picked by a panel of experts including Osborne, but the public votes for a fifth, so if your idea sucks but you’ve got loads of friends, you could still be in with a chance.
Let us know if you plan on entering and we'll keep our fingers crossed...
