Here's a treat for fans of ballet, fans of Clint Mansell *and *fans of really, really quite unsettling music: it's the soundtrack to Black Swan, and you can listen (legally) to the entire thing uninterrupted right here.
The film, of course, comes out next Friday (January 21) in the UK, and tells the story of ballerina Nina (Natalie Portman) as she struggles to step up to the prima role in her company's production of Swan Lake - and finds herself experiencing some seriously disturbing side effects to the pressure she's under. It also stars Mila Kunis as a dancer new to the company, Winona Ryder as Nina's predecessor, and Vincent Cassel as the manipulative lord of all he surveys.
The film's already got Oscar buzz up the wazoo, for everyone from Portman to director Darren Aronofsky, and while Mansell's score was sadly judged ineligible for that competition (since it takes its cues from Swan Lake, appropriately enough), it's one of the best of the year and more than worth a listen here.
