Hardly content with dominating not one but two covers of **Empire this month, the bunch of a-holes we know as the Guardians Of The Galaxy were all over American TV screens with a new promo spot boasting a few snippets of footage. Check it out…
The story, for anyone who may still be unaware, runs thus: in prison, Chris Pratt's Peter Quill – who would prefer to be known as Star-Lord – meets an unusual suspects line-up of extra-terrestrials including Gamora (Zoe Saldana), a green-skinned assassin; Drax The Destroyer (Dave Bautista), a hulking warrior; talking tree Groot (Vin Diesel) and gruff warrior Rocket (Bradley Cooper).
Though they couldn’t be more different – or less likely to want to help anyone out of the sheer goodness of their hearts – these unlikely anti-heroes will have to band together to save their little corner of space from threats so huge even the mighty Nova Corps, the galactic police force, are worried.
James Gunn marshaled the madness on this one, with John C. Reilly, Karen Gillan, Benicio Del Toro, Lee Pace, Djimon Hounsou, Glenn Close, Michael Rooker and (as recently confirmed by the director on Twitter) Nathan Fillion all along for the ride.
Guardians Of The Galaxy is out on July 31, and for much more on the film, pick up the latest issue of **Empire. Which is available digitally and in traditional dead-tree form (just don't tell Groot!)
