With Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) and the rest of the rebels finally ready to storm the Capitol in their attempt to overthrow the despotic, if well-dressed regime of President Snow (Donald Sutherland), the final chapter of the Hunger Games cinematic saga can begin. While the first film in this two-part finale appeared to suffer from adapting the quieter, more discussion-led part of Suzanne Collins’ concluding third tome, **Part 2 **promises the shift to action we were denied before.
Of course, taking the fight to the Capitol will by no means be an easy thing, with Katniss, Gale (Liam Hemsworth) and the gang facing all manner of fiendish traps and creatures devised by Snow for just such an occasion. And he’s more in control of events than even she realises...
There’s a lot to be done in this final film (at least for now, unless rumours of future stories set in the Hunger Games world come true), and the big question will be whether director Francis Lawrence can wrap it all up.
