Following on from the His & Hers promos for Love, Rosie, here comes the full-length trailer for the adaptation of Cecelia Ahern’s novel. While it continues its egregious attempts to convince the movie going public that Sam Claflin is a stuttering, spotty, awkward nice guy – sorry Finnick, not buying it, mate – it also includes a more straightforward look at the story.
Friends since childhood, Rosie (Lily Collins) and Alex (Claflin) are now trying to navigate the tricky paths of young adulthood. Their friendship is still strong, but there are those extra feelings that neither of them is quite ready to confront, beyond a few misguided attempts. Then their lives appear to diverge – Rosie falls pregnant after sleeping with another guy and Alex is accepted to Harvard, which means moving to the US. When Rosie tells a beautiful friend to look up him up on their travels, she ends up engaged to Alex… The course of sort-of-true-love, eh?
With Christian Cooke, Suki Waterhouse, Tamsin Egerton, Art Parkinson, Jaime Winstone and Jake Manley among the cast, Love, Rosie will be out on October 22.
