The previous teaser and trailer for Pixar’s latest gave us just a quick setup for the story, essentially boiling Inside Out down to its core concept. Now the new promo explores the narrative a little further, finding out what happens when something goes amiss in the head of an 11-year-old girl. Check it out below.
Pixar mainstay Pete Docter, the man behind Up and Monsters, Inc., has conjured up another unique idea for his new baby: a kind of emotional Innerspace in which five key human emotions are embodied by five different characters. Joy (Amy Poehler), Disgust (Mindy Kaling), Anger (Lewis Black), Fear (Bill Hader) and Sadness (Phyllis Smith) are the emotions that define Riley's experiences as she tries to adjust to her family's move from the Midwest to San Francisco.
That much we’ve already learned, but the new footage shows how Joy and Sadness accidentally find themselves lost within the depths of Riley’s subconscious and must find their way home. But first they’ll have to navigate areas such as Imagination Land and Dream Productions, where both happy sleep time and serious nightmares are generated by a film studio.
It’s full of some of the interesting ideas, visually and thematically that Docter and co. have shown off in promotional events for the film, which give us hope that this could be a new winner from the Emeryville team. **Inside Out **arrives here on July 24.
