Adam Sandler and Andy Samberg might not have been pleased with the floppy performance of their first collaboration, the just-released-in-the-States That’s My Boy, but they’re no doubt hoping for better things with animated outing Hotel Transylvania. And from the looks of this latest trailer, we are inclined to agree. Take a gander below.
Previous trailers for this effort have focused on the concept of the hotel as a place where monsters can come and be themselves, far from the prying eyes and scream-filled attitudes of the human race. While that idea is still here, the other big central theme is given some breathing room, with Dracula (Sandler) doting on his 118-year-old daughter Mavis (Selena Gomez). While she wants to get out of the musty old castle and explore the world, the vampire would rather she stay safe.
But then goofy tourist Jonathan (Samberg) shows up and falls for Mavis. Cue chaos! Hotel Transylvania features the voices of Steve Buscemi, David Spade, Kevin James, Jon Lovitz, Fran Drescher, Molly Shannon and Cee-Lo, but the real appeal for us is director and Samurai Jack creator Genndy Tartakovsky.
The ‘toon arrives on October 12.
