If the first trailer for Marvel’s interstellar comedy action film **Guardians Of The Galaxy was a tease introducing us to the rag-tag assortment of thieves, thugs, assassins and lunatics that makes up the titular team, this new promo delivers action, spectacle and the same swagger we’ve come to expect from what is shaping up to be another giant leap for the comic book crew.

Last time, the featured track was Blue Suede’s Hooked On A Feeling. While that tune Ooga-Chakkas its way onto this trailer towards the end, now the focus is on Norman Greenbuam’s Spirit In The Sky as Chris Pratt’s Peter Quill discusses the gang of ruffians he’s running with.

There are a few firsts here. We hear plant-warrior Groot (Vin Diesel)’s first utterance of his trademark/only phrase “I am Groot” and there is more chatter from the Bradley Cooper-voiced Rocket Racoon. There's also a wider peek at the universe this lot inhabits, alongside the initial glimpse of Glenn Close as Nova Prime Rael, a top officer of the Nova Corps, who are none too happy with the Guardians’ actions, and some glimpses of Lee Pace's big bad, Ronan the Accuser. {Guardians Of The Galaxy - New Star-Lord Stills}

With James Gunn calling the shots from the screenplay by Nicole Perlman, Guardians still seems like a whole heap of fun, if handled correctly. Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Lee Pace, Benicio Del Toro, John C. Reilly, Michael Rooker, Karen Gillan, Peter Serafinowicz, Ophelia Lovibond, Gregg Henry and Laura Haddock all feature in the film, which is out here on July 31, before landing in the US on August 1. Gunn and some of his cast hit Facebook for a Q&A around the trailer launch, and you can check out their answers here.
