Aiming to shove the buzz-o-meter needle on Green Lantern firmly from “negative” into the “positive” zone, the new trailer for the superhero pic has arrived and is chock full of new footage and action. You can bring it to life using the power of your mind (to make your finger click the mouse, at least) below.
Benefitting from the fact that more of the CG is now finished, this fresh promo ramps up the spectacle, adding some hefty Earth-bound destruction and chaos into the mix, alongside new material set on the Lantern Corps’ planet Oa.
So we’re treated to Mark Strong being a badass, knocking Ryan Reynolds’ Hal Jordan on his arse in a training sword fight (love Strong’s sneery delivery on, “How human” as he conjures up two blades to Jordan’s one), more of Peter Sarsgaard as Hector Hammond (plus Angela Bassett getting a line and Tim Robbins back in force) and lots of shots of huge, cloudy villain Parallax. Oh, and we hear Michael Clarke-Duncan’s as Kilowog for the first time…
There isn’t loads of story on display, though the basics of Jordan being chosen to become a member of the Corps and his effort to stop the destruction of Earth are at least touched upon once more. Let us know what you think.
