A new, international trailer for Disney and director Kenneth Branagh’s new take on Cinderella arrived shortly before Christmas, like a CG-enhanced bauble for your cinematic tree. Now, to help us all cope with one of the dreariest Mondays of the year, here’s another promo, this one aimed at Stateside audiences.

Branagh and his cast are sticking to the traditional fairy tale for this one. Young Ella (Lily James) sees her merchant father remarry following the tragic death of her mother. Keen to support her loving father, Ella welcomes her new stepmother Lady Tremaine (Cate Blanchett) and her daughters Anastasia (Holliday Grainger) and Drizella (Sophie McShera) into the family home.

She’s then turned into a domestic servant (time to see how someone used to Downton Abbey’s swankier chambers enjoys scrubbing floors), meets a charming royal bloke (Richard Madden), falls in lurve, and worries that she won’t be able to go to the ball he’s throwing. But faster than you can say “Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo”, she scores her chance via the Fairy Godmother (Helena Bonham Carter), has a glass slipper wardrobe malfunction and has to hope that it will all end happily. Hint: it might just.

Chris Weitz wrote the script for this one, and Cinderella will head to UK cinemas on March 27.
