With the release date now just over a month away, here comes what is reportedly the “final” (barring TV spots and other marketing ideas) trailer for the new take on Annie, starring Quvenzhané Wallis, Jamie Foxx and Cameron Diaz.
The story, of course, remains largely the same as the original film/musical/comic strip, just with a modern coat of paint and a few tweaks here and there.
Annie is living the hard knock life in foster care with the spiteful, thoughtless Miss Hannigan (Diaz). But when Annie accidentally meets Will Stacks (Foxx), her world seems to be changing for the better. Convinced that being seen around the girl will help his poll numbers, Stacks lets her stay in his massive penthouse apartment. Of course, it’s Annie who really has an effect on him as he starts to think he could be a better man. But what will happen when her real parents show up, as foretold by a letter and a locket Annie has held on to since she arrived at Miss Hannigan’s place?
Annie also boasts the likes of Rose Byrne, Bobby Cannavale, and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje. US audiences will see the film on December 19, and it’ll arrive here on December 26.
