Nicole Kidman has dropped out of Woody Allen's next, untitled film. It was announced in March that she was set to star in the film, but she has now withdrawn for as-yet unspecified reasons.

The rest of the cast includes Antonio Banderas, Anthony Hopkins, Josh Brolin, Naomi Watts and Freida Pinto, and given that everyone seems to want to work with Woody Allen, we don't expect him to be lacking a leading lady for very long. Only problem is that, with Naomi Watts already on the cast list, the most obvious candidate to replace Kidman's already accounted for.

The film's due to start shooting in London this summer, Allen's return to our shores after making Vicky Cristina Barcelona in, er, Barcelona, and Whatever Works in New York. We'll bring you news of Kidman's replacement as soon as we have it.
