When Kenneth Branagh came to town recently to discuss Thor, we took the chance to ask him about Thor's post-credits scene, which we thought might cause some discussion afterwards. Now we'll admit straight away that he doesn't give much away. In fact, he dances around the question like he's Fred Astaire. Still, if you're geeky enough and paying attention you might be able to draw some conclusions on what he's getting at.

He confirms what's already pretty obvious: this all ties in to The Avengers, wherein Tom Hiddleston's Loki is already due to appear. And that cube in the post-credits clip also looks awful**ly familiar for anyone who's seen the Captain America clip that screened at Comic-Con last year. But without wishing to stray too far into wild speculation territory, he also hints that Loki remains somewhat conflicted and perhaps not all bad - which makes him a fair bet for a third-act switcheroo in our book. Well, we can hope for some shifting sands anyway.

Thor is out now, of course, and Captain America will follow on July 29. The Avengers comes next year on May 4.
