We love Katherine Heigl, we really do - she’s hot and she’s funny… and she’s hot. But now she’s planning on dropping the giggles and doing something a little more serious.
Variety reports that the 27 Dresses and Knocked Up actress will star in and produce the movie adaptation of Escape, which is based on the best-selling memoir of Carolyn Jessop - a woman whose testimony helped convict polygamist sect leader Warren Jeffs.
Jessop was born into the Fundamentalist Church of Latter Day Saints sect and at age 18 was forced to marry a man 32 years her senior - so, you know, not a comedy then.
Filming on Escape will begin soon after Heigl wraps on Robert Luketic’s The Ugly Truth.
