Nine times out of ten, the news of a pop star joining a movie would be cause for alarm. But Justin Timberlake has proved himself a very able and respectable actor. He's become one of the best regular Saturday Night Live hosts (particularly for the Dick in the Box skit) and was the best thing in Alpha Dog. Also, he brought sexy back, which we all feared was lost forever.

Now the man who can explode a female gusset at forty paces is joining Mike Myers' latest comedy, The Love Guru. The comedy centres on a new Myers character, Pitka, an American who was left at the gates of an Indian ashram as a baby and raised by gurus. Therefore he decides to find fortune as a love guru. His skills are put to the test when he's employed to settle a rift between a hockey player (Romany Malco) and his estranged wife. The wife has since started dating a rival hockey player (Timberlake), causing her husband to go seriously off his game, much to the horror of the team's owner (Jessica Alba) and coach (Verne Troyer).

The Love Guru will be Myers' first live-action movie in five years.
