Get used to hearing the names Aziz Ansari and Jason Woliner. Probably just like that - in tandem. Now, normally we wait for something a little more concrete to write a story about pitches, but they've just had three of theirs picked up by Judd Apatow, which gives at least one of them a very good chance of making it onto the big screen in the not-too-distant future.

Of the three ideas the pair have come up with, only one has a title: Let's Do This; a road movie about two motivational speakers - or should we say, two guys who work for a motivational speaking company. The next pitch (untitled) follows Ansari's character from Funny People - so not a dissimilar spin-off idea to Get Him To The Greek being born from Forgetting Sarah Marshall - also Apatow productions. Oh, and just to complicate things a little further, Ansari will also be popping up in in Get Him To The Greek when it's released early next year. Finally, there's the one about a cosmonaut (Ansari again) who goes back out into space to clear a besmirch on his name. All of the projects will be directed by Woliner.

Fans of The Daily Show (and there ought to be a lot of you) will recognise Ansari as a former correspondent, and according to Variety he's in the as-yet-unscreened-in-the-UK sitcom Parks And Recreation, with Amy Poehler, while Woliner has directed a slew of segments for Funny Or Die, and has just finished a pilot for Adult Swim called Eagleheart. Ones to watch - very closely.
