**UPDATE: **If you’ve been waiting to hear what David Tennant sounds like as Zebediah Kilgrave (and get proper footage of Ritter as Jessica), you can do just that in another new teaser that is lurking at the bottom of the page…
Following on from a couple of new teasers for Netflix’s latest dip into the Marvel universe with Jessica Jones, a third short promo for the show that is following Daredevil to screens has dropped.
Krysten Ritter stars as Jessica, a woman with super-strength and advanced healing powers who was once a superhero. After a traumatic experience, however, she gave that up and is now making a living as a private eye. Her cases often bring her into contact with those similarly boasting special abilities as well as the usual: cheating spouses, small crimes and missing relatives. In this latest video (which still doesn’t seem to be using Ritter herself as Jessica, or so it seems by the way her face is never seen), we see her taking a shortcut back to work, flying (or rather, jumping) to the fourth-floor fire escape of her apartment/office, where she runs Alias Investigations.
Overseen by Melissa Rosenberg and based on Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Gaydos’ Alias comic book series, the show will also feature Rachael Taylor as Jessica’s closest friend Patricia “Trish” Walker, Mike Colter as friend and sometime love interest Luke “Power Man” Cage (who will be starring in his own series, now shooting), Carrie-Ann Moss as the enigmatic Harper and David Tennant as Zebediah Kilgrave, The Purple Man, a psychic psychopath who has caused so much trouble for Jessica in the past and will continue to do so in the present.
The first season launches its entirety on Netflix on November 20. It’s part of the Defenders set of shows, which also includes Daredevil, back next year for a second run.
