Jeffrey Dean Morgan Is A Loser

One of them, anyway, in comic book flick

Jeffrey Dean Morgan Is A Loser

For a man who confesses to (formerly) not being a comic book nut, Jeffrey Dean Morgan just can’t stay away from them. Not content with playing The Comedian in the eagerly-anticipated Watchmen, Morgan has today signed on to star in another comic book flick, The Losers.

Based on the Andy Diggle/Jock Vertigo comic book about a group of black ops commandos who are betrayed by the government and then set out for revenge, The Losers will be scripted by Jamie Vanderbilt and directed by Sylvain White, who is hoping to show the world that **Stomp The Yard **was a one-off and shouldn’t be held against him.

No word yet on who Morgan would be playing, but given that he’s big, burly and forty-something, he looks like a shoo-in to play Clay, the leader of The Losers. All will be revealed soon, we’re sure. It’s good to see Morgan striking while the iron is hot, though – he’s a fine actor, the ladies seem to love him, and he's been quietly carving out a movie career over the past couple of years. Maybe now he can turn his back on that regular guest spot as a hallucination on Grey's Anatomy. Not that we know anything about that show. Erm...

The movie will be a Dark Castle joint, which means that Joel Silver is producing, along with Akiva Goldsman and Kerry Foster, for their Weed Road company. Warner Bros. will be keeping a beady eye on the bottom line.
