An increasingly significant player in Hollywood circles, Aussie filmmaker James Wan is currently on the road spruiking his latest horror, The Conjuring, to the world's press. Not that it needs help particularly, what its enormo, $60 million opening weekend in the US.
Not that long ago there was talk of Wan taking on a big-screen version of maverick DIY vigilante MacGyver. It was last November to be precise. But is it still on the cards? We put that question to the man himself when **Empire **caught up with him in LA recently, and here's what he told us...
We particularly enjoyed that "I'm all Fast 7" quote. We're all Fast 7 too, James.
This news may be music to the ears of Richard Dean Anderson purists, but don't count against the string-and-sellotape ronin getting his own movie somewhere down the line. MacGyver: The Movie has too nice a ring to it. He'd make his own posters too.
The Conjuring, meanwhile, stars Vera Farmiga, Patrick Wilson, Lili Taylor and Ron Livingston, and will be scaring the pants off us in the UK from August 2. There's more Fast 7 news at your fingertips right here.brightcove.createExperiences();
