Well, it's been a long time coming, but we finally have a confirmed title for Indiana Jones IV - or rather, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Yup, that's right - recent Damien Hurst works of art have clearly started a zeitgeisty trend for valuable brain scaffolding.
But of course we jest. As discussed previously when the shortlist of titles went up (check that out **here **to see the others submitted to the MPAA) there is an ancient legend about thirteen crystal skulls hidden around the world. Five have apparently already been found, but since they're all full of mystical wotsit and have the power to...well, do stuff (we assume) it looks like Indy's going to have to find the rest.
Shia LaBeouf announced the title at the MTV Awards over the weekend, so let the rampant speculation about plot and action sequences start here. What do we think of it? Well, it's a bit of a mouthful, but it does sound like a decent MacGuffin, with enough history and myth behind it to carry the story along nicely. The real question is, how are we going to shorten it for ease of everyday use, after Raiders, Temple and Crusade? Kingdom? Crystal? Or the slightly more threatening Skull?
