Worldwide, 2011's Channel 4 sitcom film spin-off **The Inbetweeners Movie **made $88,025,781 - about £58 million, give or take, with over £40m of that coming from the UK - which makes it a monster hit, especially when you consider the minimal budget required to send the Rudge Park posse to Malia for a spot of sun, sea, surf, shagging and stupidity. So here it comes, ladies and briefcase wankers: The Inbetweeners Movie 2 is on its way.

Soon after it emerged that writers Damon Beesley and Iain Morris had a gigantic smash on their hands two years ago, everyone involved said that the boys' story had ended where the film did, and there would be no follow-up. But the fans, they wanted more, and the fans, they are getting more, with an official press release arriving this morning.

Morris and Beesley said, "We couldn't be more excited to be making another Inbetweeners movie with Simon, Joe, James and Blake. Frankly, it's pathetic how much we've all missed each other. A new chapter in the lives of the Inbetweeners feels like the very least we can do to thank the fans for their phenomenal response to the first movie."

Bo Selecta veteran Ben Palmer directed the first film, but there's no news on whether he will return to helm the project, or even what the fwends will be up to this time around. A trip to Australia? A wedding comedy? A Cannonball Ru****n knock-off? Pitch us your ideas below. The film itself is set for an autumn 2014 release and will shoot later this year.
