Every family seems to have one – especially in Movie-Land. The slacker sibling who just can’t seem to do anything right in the eyes of everyone else. In the case of Our Idiot Brother, that somebody is Paul Rudd’s Ned, and his various failings are documented in the trailer, which has just arrived online and can be viewed below.
Featuring a quality laugh-grabbing cast that also includes Elizabeth Banks, Zooey Deschanel, Steve Coogan, Emily Mortimer, Rashida Jones, Adam Scott and TJ Miller, Our Idiot Brothe****r follows Ned as he’s arrested by a clearly uniformed cop for selling the man weed. After his arrest, he decides to crash with each one of his sisters, who all have their own personality quirks, but tend to look down on their brother as the burnout disappointment. It’s clear he’s good-natured, loves their kids and wants to help, but nothing ever quite works out the way he intends.
From the looks of this first trailer, this promises plenty of decent comedy moments and likely a lot of heart. We’re even willing to overlook the fact that director Jesse Peretz’ last job was dire Zach Braff/Jason Bateman comedy The Ex.

The film will arrive in the US on August 26, but there’s no set release date for over here yet.
