We might already know what Anthony Hopkins will look like as Alfred Hitchcock in, er, Hitchcock, as the first official image (above) premiered a little while ago. But now, with Fox Searchlight clearly suspecting it might have an Oscar contender on its hands, the company has released the poster, which you can see in the gallery below.
As we mentioned, Sacha Gervasi’s film is going to put into the awards tombola and released – in the US, at least - on November 23.
Hitchcock follows the difficult production of Psycho, which faced criticism because of its horror thriller nature and had only a small budget. Add to that issues with the cast and crew and Hitch’s own personal life, and it’s a wonder the movie came out as well as it did.
Alongside Hopkins, we’ve got Helen Mirren as his wife, Alma; Scarlett Johansson as Janet Leigh; James D’Arcy as Anthony Perkins; Jessica Biel as Vera Miles and Michael Stuhlbarg as agent Lew Wasserman. Danny Elfman, meanwhile, will be providing the score.
There’s no sign of when the movie will be out here, though hopefully it’ll be either around the same time or early next year.
