Hilary Swank Is The Resident

Hilary Swank has signed on to play The Resident in a new film from Finnish director Antti Jokinen and the newly revitalised Hammer Films.

The story follows a doctor (Swank) who moves into a Brooklyn loft - only to develop the uneasy sense that all is not well and that she is Not Alone. Like, maybe her landlord is a crazed stalker, which makes it really awkward to ask for help when one needs a lightbulb changed.

Joniken, who's best known as a music video director but who has written and directed several TV serials in his native Finland, will be making his feature debut on the project. He also co-wrote the script with Robert Orr (the upcoming Underworld: Rise of the Lycans), before Erin Cressida Wilson, of Secretary fame, did a polish.

Shooting starts in May. Let's hope for the inclusion of such Hammer essentials as white nighties and gauzey curtains blowing in the wind...
