Need we remind you that the last time the Farrelly brothers and Ben Stiller teamed up it produced There's Something About Mary? And need we remind you that movie was pretty darn good? Well then signs are good for The Heartbreak Kid and the pretty solid trailer that's just gone live at Yahoo is a further good omen. If clicking here you are, the trailer thee shall see.
In the film, Stiller plays a man afraid of commitment who finally decides he's met the one in Lila (Malin Akerman – pretty and a top drawer comedienne). That is until they go on honeymoon and he discovers that his perfect woman is actually a mentally unstable mess with the mind of an ADD five-year-old and the toilet habits of a trucker after chilli night. So he's a little bummed out. Then he meets Miranda (Michelle Monaghan), who really could be his perfect woman if only it weren't for this pesky ball and chain.
The trailer packs in plenty of good gags and seems to make a star out of Akerman. In fact, the only part we're not sure about is Rob Corddry as the best friend. The former Daily Show reporter is a very funny guy, but his character comes off largely as annoying. But it is early, so the thought of anyone throwing an apple at us right now would really get on our tits.
